The Animas here in Durango Colorado has been fishing OK of late with nymph rigs and streamers. Due to low elevation snowmelt the river has been slightly off-color. AVA offers year-round guided wade and float fly fishing trips on the Animas. Trips are offered on both public and private waters. Float trips are available when flows allow.

The San Juan has very good of late with OK hatches of midges and BWOs. Some of the best fishing has been with junk patterns as well as streamers and leeches. Great time to float-fish or wade this bucket-list fishery. AVA offers year-round float and wade trips on all three sections of the Juan. Take advantage of our spring specials!

The Rio is low and snowed over. Reports indicate the ice and snow is breaking up now! AVA offers miles and miles of float fishing near Creede and down-stream through South Fork Colorado. The Rio is a must fish for the dry-fly fanatic. Shhhhhh the streamer, popper and nymph fishing is good too. Click for more info.

The Pine River flows are around 312 CFS. The river is clear with OK angling. The Pine offers a solid chance at a trophy trout over 10-pounds! Yep, 10-plus pounds! The Pine fishes well above Vallecito Reservoir in the summer and fall. AVA offers guide trips on both public and private waters on the Pine.

The upper San Juan near Pagosa Springs is low and cold. Fishing around Pagosa has been OK. The Upper Juan has a strong trout population and stunning scenery. AVA offers guided float trips through Mesa Canyon when flows and conditions allow. Season is late March into July. To book this special fishery drop us a line.

The mountain streams are cold and snowed over. Creeks offer fly anglers endless opportunities to cast fluffy dries and beaded nymphs to pretty trout in our most scenic areas of the Southwest. AVA offers numerous high country fishing adventures for all ability levels. Easy walks, moderate hikes or big adventures are available.

The Dolores, upper and lower is currently low and cold with little or no fishing. The lower Dolores is a wild canyon full of deer, bears, rattlesnakes, mountain lions, tall pines and a small handful of technical trout. The lower "D" will test the skills of the most ardent angler.
