The San Juan has been solid of late with good hatches of midges and BWOs. Some great dry fly fishing with equally interesting sight-nymphing despite"green" water from the lake turning over. Great time to float-fish or wade this bucket-list fishery. AVA offers year-round float and wade trips on all three sections of the Juan.

The Rio is low and snowed over. Reports indicate the ice and snow is breaking up now! AVA offers miles and miles of float fishing near Creede and down-stream through South Fork Colorado. The Dolores upper and lower Dolores is currently low and iced over with little or no fishing. The lower Dolores is a wild canyon full of deer, bears, rattlesnakes, mountain lions, tall pines and a small handful of technical trout. This stream will test the skills of the most ardent angler.
