I
tend to do a lot solo fishing when I'm exploring the
waters
of north-central BC. That was until my young black
lab, named Kispa (short for Kispiox) joined me on her
first steelie trip in 07. She was seven months
at the time and each day was very eager
to jump in the raft, eat rotten salmon and check out
the fish. These are shots of Kispas time on the Babine. |

is a glimpse into the world that is Babine Norlakes
Steelhead Camp. This small cozy camp, along with Pierce
and Anita Clegg and the small band of characters that
have worked at Norlakes helped launch my love for steelies,
wilderness, British Columbia, steelie bums and the
Canadian people. |

Nate Bronson,
an old friend introduced me to Pierce Clegg one snowy
November at Pierce's steelhead camp on the banks of
the Babine. This one trip, a short 10 days in the BC
wilderness changed my life. This is a gallery of Pierce
and Nate during a 2005 reunion. |

started out as a quick fish here on the Animas, our home
waters, but the weather was
perfect, the
light
just right
and
the fish on the bite. Chris Meyer and I fished the Animas
River south of Durango January 18th and had a blast.
The dogs had even more fun. |

Kateri Clay
rocks. She can launch perfect casts on her two-hander,
out fish most dudes, rip whiskey all night and do it
all with style. Kateri grew up in the Kispiox Valley.
